Artist Statement
I paint from the emotion that the landscape leaves me: rain, mist, wounded earth. I don't seek to represent, but to evoke. The transformations of the coffee territory hurt me and I paint so as not to forget what is being erased: vegetation, life forms, houses, the memory of what we were.
As an artist from the coffee region, my work is a deep reflection of my childhood and youth surrounded by coffee, which imprinted in me a passion and emotion that are expressed in every brushstroke. My father's dedication to coffee cultivation and the love he transmitted to us for this land has become the force that drives me to capture the essence of our culture in my paintings. Through my art, I want to leave a trace of what this landscape was, which is now being transformed. My work is a tribute to that legacy and to the deep connection I feel with my roots.
